Safe to
walk?
Not just the temperature — a straight answer on whether to walk your dog, and when.
What it does
Safepaws reads your local conditions and gives you a verdict — not a wall of numbers to interpret yourself. If it is bad now but improves later, it tells you when: “Not now — wait for 3pm.” A day view shows every hour, colour-coded, with the best walking window called out.
The pavement matters more than the air
Sun-baked tarmac runs far hotter than the air above it — around 52°C when the air is only 25°C. Safepaws estimates pavement temperature from sun strength, not just the forecast, and warns you before paws are at risk.
Honest thresholds
The risk bands follow published veterinary guidance on heatstroke and pavement burns, and sit deliberately on the cautious side of it. Every verdict tells you what is driving it. Guidance only — you know your dog best.
